We haven’t folded it up and we got free assembly so I’m unable to comment on those aspects. I got this for my husband who had just gotten his first prosthetic leg after being wheelchair bound for five months. He likes that it can be adjusted in small increments and feels very safe on it. It has helped immensely with his balance. He is 6’3 and 260lbs so sturdiness is key. I like that it’s more attractive in my house than a lot of the other rehab treadmills would have been. By the way, I was very happy with the gentleman who did the assembly.
The lowest speed on this treadmill is 0.1mph---very slow and appropriate for someone recovering from a stroke or serious injury. The electronic controls are really simple but totally sufficient. Buttons and display quality seem good. Structure of the treadmill is strong and sturdy. Motor is quiet. Putting it together was not very hard, but the instructions can always be better (how 'bout printing the figure on the opposing page to the corresponding text instructions, rather than the NEXT page?!). In the end, that is just a small annoyance. After a week, I'm happy with this purchase.
I bought this for my wife. We have another Treadmill that does much more and can go much faster (up to 15 MPH) but it periodically jumps speed and goes faster than she can react, so she wanted a treadmill that didn't go faster than 5 MPH. She also really liked the Hand rails and that they went all the way from the front to the back. It arrived and I assembled it. Nothing crazy difficult for anyone who is even moderately mechanically inclined. As others have stated (in reviews/questions) it is fairly heavy. I ended up opening the box on the porch and bringing each piece in separately and assembling it in the house. Once assembled, it's final location was on a Hardwood floor however the left side of the treadmill was on an area rug (very low mat though). This wasn't an issue because it can be adjusted for varying heights independently. The treadmill can operate from real slow up to 5 MPH. No incline, no extra gadgets. There is a Pulse Sensor, but like most of them, the accuracy is almost always in question. No Blue tooth, no Speakers, no fans, no fancy displays, no software updates, no USB, etc.... Very basic... Start/Stop and set speed. What I did not like about this treadmil was the belt and it's need to constantly be tweaked. Not sure if it was our belt or all of them, but as it ran (with no one on it) you could see at the "Seam" where it's stitched together, it seems it's not a smooth loop, rather if you laid it flat, it would shift to the left coming up to the seam, then after it passed, it shifted back to the right until it started coming back toward the seam. Since there was adjustments to control the tension of the belt and it's movements, I could tweak it enough but there was very LITTLE margin of error (maybe a centimeter on each side) before the belt would rub up against the edge of the platform. Once someone got on the treadmill, it would shift just enough so that the belt would rub against the edge making noise that annoyed my wife. So I ended up tweaking it while it was running and she was on it to get it just right. Now if anyone else got on it and used it, it would need tweaking again. While these adjustments are not hard, it is a bit tedious and has to be done at the back of the treadmill where you have to insert an allen wrench in through a cover to get the bolt and tighten or loosen the left and/or right sides. So you are down on your knees (on my hardwood floor) and trying to push it through the cover. Got to the point I left the cover off to save time/aggravation. If the treadmill got moved at all (like to clean underneath it), we had to re-adjust it again. The constant re-adjustment led to my aggravation. The need for readjustment (because of the belt hitting the edge of the platform making noise) aggravated my wife. Too much aggravation = no use treadmill! In addition, particularly when starting her work out (when it wasn't being too fussy), my wife would start walking on it and the belt would just seem to stop (aka "Stick") for a brief moment causing my wife to lose her step. While nothing ever happened (Falling, hurt) it was a bit disconcerting. At least she had the long rails to keep her support. So we had about a frustrating time of usage (about a year and a half) and eventually it ended up sitting not being used for about another 6 months before we decided to migrate it to the garage storage. Your mileage might vary, but I wasn't overly pleased with the minor but very annoying issue and feel like the almost $900 paid could have been better spent elsewhere.
